I'm pretty happy with the exam. Might lose something for explanations and there seems to be one slightly contentious synchrotron question... but other than that I think it was good!
VCE 2008:
English 49                        Physics 45
Specialist Maths 47           Economics 44
Maths Mathods CAS 50     (2007) Chemistry 46

Aggregate 208.8
ENTER 99.90

Tutoring Methods, Specialist and Chemistry in 2009!
PM me if interested.

i didnt make the connection that even though it was volts plotted on that damn graph, the y axis was still in eV which means i didnt find a work function and couldnt do the next 2 questions.

I wasted a lot of time trying to convert a voltage into an energy value (eV)
also, dropped a few marks in sound, 75% in the detailed study.
I also learnt syncrotron but thought that the sound stuff was easier.

Also dropped a few marks on the easy commutator slip ring question coz i didnt choose the abs(sin) graph which im kicking myself about. Sooooo easy. and my description of lenz law in relation to that coil was   c r a p...

Also, the messed up question with the harmonics. i picked C 768. i figured that was the ONLY frequency from the multiple choice list that could apply to a closed pipe.

All in all, i could have done better

Im hoping for a 35, but im not sure anymore =[
not that it matters, i only need an ENTER of 75 for my course. lol (applied physics RMIT)

Wait, wha?

What was the right answer for that 'second' harmonic question?

the right answer was to take into account that n=3 for the 2nd harmonic as it is a closed pipe. I don't think this is a mistake as everybody is saying... i just think the vcaa was trying to make sure everyone knew their shit.
