How do you remember dates?

Quotes and case studies are easier because they actually mean something to me, but I have so much trouble remembering dates. History of Aus FP kills me.

Anyone have any fancy techniques?

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortuantely though, I've tried both and neither really work for me.
Flash cards are better because I can test myself...but still not good...

make the dates symbolise something. as in- if its 1907...id remeber that my birthdate is 7th of X...ans u know it will be 19...so 19 07...if that makes sense

yeah that's a good idea doboman- thanks! I think i need to just be a bit creative with it...

I can always remember the UN resolutions for Kuwait though, 660,661,678...easiest set of numbers ever.

Now....ANZUS treaty established 1951 anzus 1951 one nine five one 1951
my birthday's in May, that's the fifth month, i'm number one haha, so 51. 1951. 1951.

Alright I'm done.

Try mentioning the date a lot. Whenever you think\write\talk about a particular event, always note the date and it'll stick in your head soon enough.

What I did was make a timeline of all the dates and numbers I had trouble with (I found the UN resolutions really easy to remember too so didn't bother with those) and stuck it on my wardrobe door (or some place which you'll see every day), and just took ~10 minutes out of every day to read over it, like while I was brushing my teeth or doing my hair or something.
By the exam I actually had a picture of the timeline stuck in my head which I could read like a book (I suppose that's what people with photographic memory feel like, lucky bastards).
