When you are asked to identify an ether link on a disaccharide, do you circle just the O or do you circle all of C-O-C?

Is this the NEAP test?

You circle the -O- only not including the C's.

EDIT: beat me to it methodsboy :)

On each of the oxygen atoms in carboxylic acids and alcohols, there are two lone pairs of electrons. Nobody ever draw them though o.o

Alsoooo, this mess how do you even begin to decipher it?

1. But you only have to do 4 more strokes :P won't take that much of time.

2. This is check points question isn't it? I remember this naughty one when I did it. Also may I ask, how did you get the e-book?

I'd say it's A.

Consider the following reaction pathway:
ethene -> chloroethane -> ethanol -> ethanoic acid

Is this possible? If you do addition on ethene you get 1,2-dichloroethane but this can't be used to get ethanol, can it?
