Is this right:
(4+1)=5?
(2+1)(2+1) = 9?

Yeah coz the CH_2 for the 2nd one on both sides of the middle CH_2 are not in the same environment, since one is linked to OH and another is linked to CH_3, so spin spin coupling occurs?

The in the middle, will split into (3+1)(2+1)

If it was just

it would split into (3+3+1)

Just the n+1 rule types of splitting.

Multiplicity won't be on? That's a relief.

Out of interest, if multiplicity does occur and say you have 12 peaks, some would overlap so it would actually be somewhere around 6 - 7 peaks.
