I don't like it.

And before i receive a tirade of abuse, i'd just like to justify as to why i have come to this conclusion. The website front page should cater for its intended audience (which is year 12s -give and take 3 years). Although the design is great, and kudos to ell for the excellent work, its blockyness is a worrying part. The design looks too 'professional' - the charcoal colour just accentuates it professionalism and i don't know if that's a good thing to be honest if that makes sense. It looks like something a Lawyer or a CA would use- not something that is 'hippity-hop' for 18 year olds. I don't know, that's just my opinion, and i have no doubt that it would be out-weighted- but yeah.
If a funky looking page can't be whipped up, then, what i think, and this is what most forums have, is that www.vcenotes.com should just be redirected to the forum (where the popup comes to say" become a member now") rather than having a pre-word out as your opening page.

Again, ell its a great job, but in my opinion, it doesn't fit.

I'll have to agree with doboman ... it looks absolutely fantastic, just unfortunately not really suited to its audience. I still like the first one better, it's funkier and brighter

I had a quelm with the blue too but I thought Id let it go.

I think that a lot of dobomans worries with the latest offering could be solved by simply changing the colour. Maybe the green from the previous design would be best.

I'd also love to see a smiling hot chick on the front of the website making VCE look fun:) (instead of the book thingo)

The site is empty (has no notes in any of the subjects)... and it's a mere cookie-cutter website from a joomla template:

A cursory glance of the signup form requires you to hand over your home address and mobile phone number (HMMM I WONDER WHAT THAT WILL BE USED FOR)

Furthermore, that site is from the same person who posted here saying VCEOnline will quote "never be a threat"

http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,4312.30.html

A quick google yields this:
http://209.85.173.132/search?q=cache:XiA4LG7b_x4J:www.stpaulswgl.vic.edu.au/grammarian/2008/101008.pdf+vceonline&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=4&gl=au

He essentially promised that site to his principal for St. Paul's exclusive use, then double-crossed them the second he got the chance. Lol.

hahaha, that guy :P
Well, it seems he has as much proper contents as our viki does, good luck to him. We just need to be one step ahead. =D

I say, as part of the redesign, we should rewrite the front page quoting some statistics, testimonials and results. They speak more than any fancy persuasive text =]

We have statistics + results on the front page :P. I think testimonials are tacky as hell though.

I think the letter at the front of the page is a tad too long. Like it doesnt really accentuate the pros of the site in a user friendly way.
