Same to you, sir. You've been avoiding the bias question for 10 pages and then answered it half-assed ONCE.

Well, now you can ask me that question for 10 pages of posts. And to use your argument: You're just speculating and making assumptions!!!!11

I have not "evaded" any questions that were directly related to clarifying an argument or statement that I had made.

You accuse me of trolling yet you refuse to explain how this post: http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,7719.msg96113.html#msg96113
is "provocation"

Says it all really.

"WHAT, ME?!?!?!"

You're so innocent, Brendan. I'm sorry for bullying you because you're such a victim :):):)

You are being a bully though

Sure Brendan's posts can be considered anti-arts, but its as though he goes around to arts students and berates them for their chosen career path. Brendan has starte around 400 threads of discussion, i'd dare say not even 10% would put arts subjects in a negative light, yet he is being labeled as an anti-arts crusader

If you don't like it, don't read it, why are so many being childish about it

Brendan can be a fustrating poster, but the response to his posts seems over the top, afterall, it's all just insinuation at best. Even if Brendan was a troll, which he clearly is not dan, be realistic, there are far worse on this board who don't even attempt to engage in intelligent discussion

This whole thing seems like an over reaction, and you really shouldn't be a ringleader in berating him, it sets a poor example

At least there are still some voices of reason still left in this thread.

But I did explain it? I mean seriously, you've just chosen to selectively ignore COMPLETELY what I was saying before.

I said you went on after people were getting a bit annoyed at the arts posts you made to then SEARCH for OTHER articles to post up that were of the same nature. That's trolling, Brendan. :-/

It's not trolling. If you're getting annoyed about the facts, then you are sort of 'trolling yourself'.

You are merely victim to your own values and preferences: processing the facts, then attaching your own values and preferences to them to make your own personal implication about whether Arts is "good" or "bad".

Lol, you can dress it up however you want. Read my reply in that other thread. It was clear provocation on his part, if he KNEW that was the reaction he was getting in another thread, he knew it'd be the same in another thread if he posted up the exact same thing.

That is the very definition of trolling.

I said you went on after people were getting a bit annoyed at the arts posts

You mean people were annoyed at this: http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,7719.msg96113.html#msg96113

So first it was "provocation", now it is "people were getting a bit annoyed"?

So you are saying that people must not post any facts and statistics that may run the risk of some readers "getting a bit annoyed" at the statistics? Oh I am so sorry that some people get annoyed at the facts. But seriously, if people are annoyed at the simple sight of facts and statistics, then that is their own problem that they have to deal with.

Oh wait, so finding evidence to support and back up your claim is provocation now?

I never said that at all, honeybunch. :) I said they were getting a bit annoyed at your repetitive drumming in of these statistics to push your anti-Arts agenda.

your anti-Arts agenda.

I explicitly said earlier that I am not "anti-Arts", yet you seem to arrogantly hold the view that you somehow know me better than I do myself, all to satisfy yourself.

I have said this in another quote in a language that people didn't understand (normative statements and positive statements):

If you are annoyed by the facts (positive statements), it is not because the facts are annoying. It is because the conclusion is annoying.

But the conclusion comes from an extra input - it comes from yourself: that is your value-input (normative statement).

If A means B, that's a fact.

If B is bad (your value input), then now we can draw the conclusion:

A means B, and B is bad, so that means A is bad!

Brendan has only supplied the fact. The value-input, which is necessary for your conclusion, comes from yourself. You are only getting annoyed by your own values and preferences, not any "agenda" of Brendan's.
