Most preferably, a corporate or copyright lawyer. Wanted to do criminal law before, but didn't want to get killed incase I lost a case. :S

lol, interesting reason for avoiding criminal law.

That's kind of like saying, "I don't want to do immunology medicine just in case I have to take blood from a patient with AIDS, and then accidentally jab the needle into myself afterwards and contract the AIDS..."

:P

Hehe... :) But I've had an interest in copyright law for some time now... Like Cadbury and Darrel Lea... The colour purple; this is what I'm interested in. :D

It's good you're doing something you like for something other than money. ;)

You sound like me. I'd rather be doing something I love (working in health care) and earning a lower wage, than doing something that I hate and earning quite a lot.

its not that i hate law. i jut wouldnt find it particually fllfilling to be helping criminals with their lives when i could be saving people and making a difference to lives in a lasting and rewarding way.

Yeah, not all lawyers earn big bucks ya know. I want to go into human rights law. Definitely not gonna be earning a 6 figure salary there. Also quite a fulfilling job. :)

Yeah. Well, criminal law is only one aspect of law.

Also in Nursing, you will have to help EVERYONE who comes into your ward and is assigned under your care. You will need to care for a diverse range of individuals, including criminals, and people who aren't at all appreciative of your care.

But yeah, overall Nursing is a highly rewarding and interesting career.

Ooh, my boyfriend wants to do human rights law too :)

I meant in general when I said "I'd rather be doing something I love than something I hate with a high salary." I didn't mean law specifically. I probably wouldn't mind some aspects of it at all.

Out of those courses I would do one of the RMIT ones. I'm sorry to say that a law degree from VU isn't looked upon very highly while the Media/PC/Journalism are the best of their type in Victoria. Journalism is very tough at the moment for job prospects, my sister, who graduated in the top 3 of her year at RMIT, had to take a cadetship at a country newspaper as The Age didn't take any one and the Herald Sun took one, who had 3 years industry experience. Of course if Journalism is your passion then I would still take this course.

But I guess the main reason why I want the Law course is because after a year, I can transfer into any other Law course I want (provided I get good results :P). And I don't think it is entirely difficult to get good scores at Vic uni, given that you study for the necessary hours. I think my career path is chosen. :)

what law course are you planning to do at vic uni? just straight law?
i might have to go down a similar path if i don't get 95 for ANU.

i am aware of that you can go into family law and all that jazz. however, everyone is fighting. your only there to argue their problems and uphold laws that i personally believe are both corrupt and bias. i would rather aide those in need by providing them with the best medical attention i can offer.
