Middle-band?

I checked the VTAC website for my particular course and it said this:

"Middle-band: Consideration will be given to performance in English (any), mathematics (any), science (any) and to Deakin Access and Equity Program applicants."

Does Access and Equity cover Special consideration 11/12 made through VTAC?

well basically, a middle band is something that they (uni) might consider or look into if you are below the clearly in or you don't meet all pre-requisites (something along those lines). In your specific dilemma, the uni will consider how well you went in any eng math or sci subject when selecting.

Yes. But in the middle band, it states that they consider the Access and Equity scheme. I applied for Special Consideration instead - will they also take this into account, or only A&E?

For these purposes, I believe so. But Access and Equity and yr11/12 Special Consideration are 2 different things. However, I think SEAS isn't in the middle band, because they can go lower than the fringe ENTER?

But I couldn't apply for Access and Equity as my problems only affected me for the two VCE years.. They will not ignore my Special Consideration if I'm in the middle band, will they?

And does Access and Equity have more priority than Special Consideration?

Yeah, Access and Equity has greater predominance in selection than Special Consideration as Access and Equity applicants have had  severe long-term hardships making it hard to study from a young age.   Not to sound negative, but Access and Equity candidates can go under the fringe ENTER than special consideration applicants. I think they will look through your studies in yr11/12 and GAT and see what they can do.

Oh thanks. I guess it would've been nice if you also met another friend's friend who had the same ENTER as that guy, applied for the same course but went for Special Consideration instead to compare, ha. WHO WOULD'VE GOTTEN IN? :O

I dunno though. Living in rural areas (A&E) would definitely not beat "My whole family died in a hurricane and now I'm homeless" during year 11 and 12.
