My enter score is below whats required for my course. What now?
« on: December 15, 2008, 04:59:52 pm »
I wanted to do biomed need 95. But i got 93.75. Can i still get into the biomedicine course 2nd year?

Edit; AT UOM that is.

I am thinking of doing biomed science at monash (needs 91) and then transfer down to melb since its much closer.

my advice is to get into anything that is related to that course (the monash course sounds good) and try your hardest to do well and just transfer after a year. that path seems to be the norm these days. its great really. but if it means getting into what you want, why not!

2007: Bio[32]-HHD[36]
2008: English[43]-Lit[32]-Further[39]-Psych[35]-Chem[25]
2009: Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery (Y)

Desired ENTER:            Actual ENTER:
> 9000                        85.80

Just do science at Melbourne and do the same subjects that you would do in biomed

Yeah that's probably the best way to go... but um a friend of mine got into biomed at UoM with an ENTER of 94 (this year)... So you -might- be able to get in? I don't know if it changed for next year though... Good luck :D

+1. You can take all the biomed majors in a Bsc, and even more options available if you change your mind
Just do science at Melbourne and do the same subjects that you would do in biomed

Isnt it true that if u do one year at any other institution, u have to start all over again when u transfer into UoM because with the new Melbourne Model they dont recognise study at other institutes?

So can i transfer between faculties then? Like from science to biomedicine? I just want to be recognised as a biomed student rather then a science one.

That's what I've heard too...

I'd advise to transfer between faculties rather than universities, if you still want to get into biomed :D

Pretty sure that's true. Planning to do it just to get into Monash law. XD

1. Find a course that will offer similar subjects to Biomed.
2. Check with the head of the faculty/course coordinator that you can actually transfer.
3. Apply for an internal transfer
[Hopefully achieving good scores in your first year or so you'll be able to transfer into biomed]

Please bare in mind that I'm not exactly familiar with UoM's procedures, but that's usually how it goes. ^_^

I shouldn't even be doing law with my ENTER (shhhhhh...)... But my school sucks, so I get certain privileges! :D
