anyone do better than expected and confused about your future?

i know i am. i got 15 more than i expected! which is good, but it also means that it would be fair lame to settle for my mediocure nursing degree. i mean, someone with high 60's can get in and it almost seems as though i would be "wasting" my enterscore if i decided to go down that path.

anyone else feel this way?

can anyone offer some advice? im completelly at a lost as to what i should do, and we only have a few days to decide!!!!!!!  :o :( :o

Don't feel like you're "wasting" yourself just because you can easily get into your degree. If you feel like you could do more with your talents, then look into it. But make sure you're doing something that you're interested in.

i.e. you should look into other degrees that you might be interested in (biomed perhaps? I don't know).
VCE 2006
PhB (Hons) (Sc), ANU, 2007-2010
MPhil, ANU, 2011-2012

Research Associate, University College London, 2017-2020
Assistant Professor, University of Virginia, 2020-

Feel free to ask me about (advanced) mathematics.

Yeah I agree, just because the ENTER is low for the course you wanted to do, doesn't mean you should change courses, and it most certainly does not mean it will be easier than other courses... Keep that in mind, also another thing you might like to do is look at the course outline in detail, try figure out if that's the course you really want.

Oh and you might like to look at ACU in regards to midwifery, nursing and similar courses... I heard they have a pretty good range of courses to choose from.

Well if you do decide to go to a university in melbourne, you'll probably live on campus where you'll find that most kids there are themselves from the country, so everyone is in the same boat. However nursing courses in the city are not inherently better than those in the country. Ballarat University has a very popular nursing program, as does ACU

I 've always thought that paramedics would be one of the most enjoyable courses to do

The ENTER required for your course has more to do with demand than with course difficulty. You wouldn't be wasting your intelligence on a course with a lower ENTER score, because all that means is that you're picking a course that isn't all that popular.

If nursing is truly what you want to do, then you have to go for it! You shouldn't just pick something else that requires a higher ENTER and will ultimately leave you unhappy. However, if you decided that you wanted to do nursing in the first place because that's all you thought you could get into, you really should rethink. Somehow though, I don't think that's the case here.

All you need to do is ask yourself if nursing is what you want to do with your life. If the answer is 'yes', then everything else is irrelevant.

that was awesome advice :) thank you. i think i mostly chose nursing because i thought it would be easy to get into. but then again i have become very passionate about it on my journey! hmmm. choices choices. if i cant get into paramedicince, what else is there...
