In 2009 I will be offering
tutoring services to VCE Students completing 1/2 and 3/4 sequences in various subjects. I am a highly enthusiastic and motivated VCE graduate who relishes the opportunity to help VCE students realise and reach their full potential.
I am non-discriminatory in my offer of tutoring services. Whether you are just aiming for a 30 or a 50 matters little to me. I will endeavor to help YOU reach your goals. I am a very approachable, social and expressive individual so I envisage my tutoring services to be a positive experience not a dreaded experience. All in all, I am very excited at the prospect of helping other students realise and reach their potential. I have excellent communication skills which will no doubt help when it comes to explaining concepts and making sure everything is covered in detail.
First I will start by summarising my academic record. I completed my VCE in 2008 with an ENTER score of
96.95 I anticipate that I will be enrolled in the
Bachelor of Business (Accounting)/Bachelor of Business (Management) at Monash University in 2009, further complementing my knowledge in the various VCE disciplines I will offer tutoring services in.
I will be offering tutoring services in the following subjects:
- Business Management (Units 3/4)- Received a Study Score of 47 in 2008
- English (Units 1-4)- Received a Study Score of 46 in 2008
- Accounting (Unit 1-4)- Received a Study Score of 40 in 2008
- Legal Studies (Units 3/4)- Received a Study Score of 40 in 2007
In addition I will also be offering services in
Economics (Units 1-4)for those who are game enough to take me on as their tutor. I received a personally disappointing study score of 33 in Economics but I can tell you in
all honesty that Economics is my
best subject. I understand Economics in a great deal of depth and I know the course inside out. I have typed up notes for Unit 3 which will be available for any students who take me on as their tutor in Economics.
Business ManagementMany students will no doubt see no point in having a Business Management tutor. I fully understand that, however for some students the concepts in Business Management may seem slightly foreign. I have an excellent understanding of the course and a brilliant streamline method for learning the course. I will be able to show you which areas of the course are non-essential and which of those you should focus on. For those aiming high, I will be able to help you refine your skills and help improve the flow and structure of your answers, ensuring all parts of the questions are addressed in full. Do not underestimate the strength of performing well in this subject.
In addition- supplementing my study of Business Management is my qualification in Retail Operations as recognised in my Certificate II and III in Retail Operations. I will be able to explain how many aspects of Business Management can be applied in real life examples, as I have personal experience working in a large scale organisation.
EnglishIn 2008 I studied A Man for all Seasons and Of Love and Shadows for my text response essays. I have a very in-depth understanding of A Man for All Seasons and am aware of various aspects of the texts that are commonly overlooked. I have various resources which will be available for loan to students that will help in their studies for this text. My understanding of Of Love and Shadows is quite good and again, I am heavily resourced for this text.
I studied "Identity and Belonging" for Creating and Presenting of the course. The two source texts I studied were Witness and The Catcher in the Rye. I have a very in depth understanding of Witness and a slightly less deep understanding of The Catcher in the Rye. All students would have access to my extensive notes and resources for this area of study.
Language Analysis is an area where I am extremely competent in. I can teach this area of the course VERY WELL to students, especially to those who are struggling with the notion of a language analysis. Again, I have extensive resources available for all students.
AccountingI have a very thorough understanding of all units of VCE Accounting, in particular Units 3/4. I will be able to refine your theory answers to an approach that maximises the chance of full marks and will be able to explain how to get your head around Accounting. I have various resources available for students who wish to use my services. My in depth understanding of the Accounting course can be vouched for by many students on VCENotes.
Legal StudiesLegal Studies was a passion of mine back in 2007 and I guarantee that I can make you interested in it (assuming that you weren't already 
). I still have various exams, notes, and resources which will be available to all students. My understanding of the course is thorough and my enrollment in a Bachelor of Laws will no doubt be beneficial to all students who take on my services. I tutored Legal Studies in 2008 (for free to friends and family members) and my students were very positive in their appraisals.I will be charging these following reasonable rates:
- $15 per hour - if tutoring takes place at my residence or within 5-10 minutes of my house (Dandenong area- Keysborough specifically)
- $20 an hour (higher charge to cover travel costs) - if tutoring takes place in a location within 10-25 minutes drive of Dandenong (eg. your residence or a local library)
If you wish to be tutored at a place such as the State library (where travel times may be excessive) a price can be requested on application.
