What game(s) do you play?

The release of Halo in 2001 was immensely popular amongst gamers and continued through 2004's release of Halo 2. With the September's final addition to the trilogy I wonder, is Halo the best shooting game of all time. With Halo and Halo 2 becoming such a success, are Bungie going to be able to continue getting millions of fans buying they're games or have they done their dash? Is their movie going to work?

oh, it'll work alright, Halo is now a classic FPS, no one will forget it, even if it is just the name. Halo (and all its associates) will sell well...

but, even tho it is vastly popular, i personally think it is very lame, a super-soldier who run around and shoot at practically everything he sees then saving the world, numerous times, i'm getting sick of it.... it's not worth the money, time nor effort.
there is no need to rank games, they achieve little for our needs, there are many more things that require our attention, rather than wasting time showing off to other people going "ZOMG I PLAY BEST GAME EVER! WOOT"

I don't tend to like games where you just shoot at people for no apparent reason (I know it has a plot, but I can't be bothered finding out what it is), I prefer games like Brain Age and so on. That said, Halo is very good for what it is, not to mention successful.

I enjoy a rather random assortment of games:

Chess, Civilization, Pro Evolution Soccer, Tribal Wars, Star Control II

I guess they all have an element of strategy and tactics, except Star Control II which is mainly an RPG game. I enjoy many RPG games, but they're not games that I pick up and play again, so usually they don't get mentioned.

Chess, Civilization, Pro Evolution Soccer , Tribal Wars, Star Control II

PES 4 has to go close to being the best football game ever made, it beats newer versions of PES and all FIFA games.

Some of my favourites over the years have included: Football Manager (and Championship Manager), Oblivion, Jade Empire, Gran Turismo (possibly my vote for the best game ever made), Harvest Moon, Commander Keen, Jazz Jackrabbit, Duke Nukem , Myst and Kings Quest!

I'm fairly curious to see what kind of games members of this community play. Given that you lot are all rather computer-savvy (or savvy enough to spend copious amounts of time here ), I'd expect a lot of people would partake in the pleasures of the computer...

So anyway, after that waste of keyboard strokes (and this one too)...what games do you play?

To get the ball rolling: I mostly play Team Fortress 2, Garry's Mod DarkRP, Counter-Strike 1.6/Source and DominiaMUD. Occasionally I'll strap get it on with some Command and Conquer 3, Civilisation 4 and Supreme Commander. That said...my recent addiction must be Project Euler

I tend to stay away from the MMORPGs...not a huge fan of farming slack'n'hack games. I like to play those sorts of games in a smaller environment where you actually know who you're playing with.

I'm a Warcraft III / Starcraft junkie. I reckon I'm pretty good at ladder but I mostly play customs. I can't wait till SC2 comes out that's gonna be awesome.

Oh hell yes; that seems to be driven by hype atm! Let's see if the hype was deserved when it does come out! Blizzard has a history of releasing good games, infrequently. Let's hope they release a sequel worthy of the title.

It's a pity the 'surprise' factor will not be there when it is finally released, seeing as all the units they've made so far are on www.starcraft2.com. But it still looks pretty awesome, especially the capital units.

I play lots of random games: Need for Speed, Juiced, Sims 2, Fable, Oblivion....I can't wai until Spore's released .
I don't really like shooter games though.
I used to play Starcraft, Diablo, KKND 2 etc. Although that's probably only because of my 3 brothers lol, still they are enjoyable games.

Currently neo, tribal wars, failing at project euler, wii games. <3 zelda games even though I haven't played them all (no phantom hourglass because I don't have a nintendo DS, haven't played majora's mask either x_x). and playing through super mario galaxy and will start metroid (they were my xmas pressies) when I have 60 stars or so
I used to like age of empires but then I realised I couldn't do the battling part very well.
I also have played other games like tribal wars (don't know what type they're called x_x) that get boring after a month because they're repetitive (like tribal wars ) which I don't play any more. The one I used to play the most is at www.mech.vg. All other virtual pet sites are crap =)
