Nice - what program are you using? I used to use WindowBlinds - took up way too much memory. StyleXP (or applying that uxtheme.dll patch) was more efficient but not as powerful.

uxtheme.dll patch, i dont use programs cause it takes up resources and i dont like it.

Like it just simple really. low res + lowest graphics and visual effects, highest performance. All i can afford with my 512MB really ;/

Umm 512 Ram should be able to use windows xp kind of fast even my 1 gig ram is way way way to much for xp bur for vista Hmm 3.3 Rating :(

Should probably specify what I am running...

Xfce 4.4.2 as a desktop environment, and using the CDE style desktop with minimised application windows in it. Top to bottom are: Pidgin (instant messaging), Firefox (web browser), Thunderbird (email), Liferea (rss feed reader) and XChat (IRC). Amarok is also running, but in the 4th virtual desktop.

Window manager theme is Xfce's default, as is the gtk+ theme.

I am now permanently using Ubuntu (/me eagerly awaits Wine to go gold in a few days hopefully).

Damn...KDE looks pretty sweet.

Does compiz work in KDE / is there a compiz alternative for KDE?
