V on...

Governments...
Quote
People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.
Quote
Certainly there are those who are more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable.

Identity...
Quote
Who? Who is but the form following the function of what, and what I am is a man in a mask.
Quote
Hate was all I knew, it built my world, it imprisoned me, taught me how to eat, how to drink, how to breathe. I thought I'd die with all my hate in my veins. But then something happened. It happened to me... just as it happened to you.

Society...
Quote
There are no coincidences, ... only the illusion of coincidence.
Quote
Symbols are given power by people. A symbol, in and of itself is powerless, but with enough people behind it, blowing up a building can change the world.

A particularly favourite scene of mine
Quote
Delia: Are you going to kill me now?
V: I killed you 10 minutes ago.
[shows her hypodermic needle]
V: While you slept.
Delia: Is there any pain?
V:No.
Delia:Thank you. Is it meaningless to apologize?
V: Never.
Delia:I'm so sorry.
:smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
hehehe...
Quote
Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Confusing?... Translation

Quote
Behold! Before you is a humble performer, cast, against his will, by fate, to the roles of both victim and villain. The face you see now is not just some mere facade of pointless theatrics. It is a remnant of the people's voice, which has since gone and disappeared. However, this past annoyance stands courageously reborn and has sworn to conquer the evil and corrupt, who promote greed and the violent suppression of free will. The only way to do this is with a war of retribution. It will not be a fruitless revenge, for the importance and self-evidence of this quest shall exonerate the open-minded and righteous. But in truth, this thick soup of words is becoming too excessive. So, let me simply finish by saying that it's my very good honor to meet you, and you may call me V.

I was expecting
Quote
Took you long enough to get here. Took you ten years to get to my house. Huh, what's the matter? You don't like my house? Does my house stink? That's right-it stinks! I didn't have no favors from you! Don't slum around me. Talkin' about your prime. What about my prime, Mick? At least you had a prime! I didn't have no prime. I didn't have nithin'! Leg's are goin', everything is goin'. Nobody's getting' no nothin'. Guy comes up, offers me a fight. Big deal. Wanna fight the fight? Yeah, I'll fight the big fight. I wouldn't wanna fight. Know what's gonna happen to me? I'm gonna get that! I'm gonna get that! And you wanna be ringside to see it? Do ya? You wanna help me out? Huh? Do you wana see me get my face kicked in? Leg's ain't workin', nothing's workin', but they go, "Go on, fight the champ." Yeah, I'll fight him. Get my face kicked in. And you come around here. You wanna move in here with me? Come on in! It's a nice house! Real nice. Come on in and move. It stinks! This whole place stinks. You wanna help me out? Well, help me out! Come on, help me out. I'm standin' here!
Only Sly could come up with that rubbish.

But seriously I didn't really like V for Vendetta, ending didn't really do it for me, and it just reminded me of 1984 too much. Might've been better as a book. For my fav movie, can't go past Apocalypse Now, on top of being based on such a stunning book as Heart of Darkness, it was so brilliantly crafted by Coppola and Storaro.

Well considering everyone has now hijacked the thread, we might as well make it a share your favourite quotes.

Please follow a similar format to what I have posted.
(Quote in quote box)- Please include name of movie and year made if it is an obscure film.

awesome movie

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Major LOLs

The president talks to an FBI agent regarding the cover up made on area 51 and the existence of aliens.

US President: Why wasn't I told about this?
FBI agent: Two words sir, plausible deniability.
(Independence day)

Willy-wonker talks to his father (who is a dentist) about chocolate.

Willy-wonka's father: I read in a recent medical journal saying that some children are allergic to chocolate.
Willy-wonka: But I might not be allergic.
Willy-wonka's father: But why take the risk.
(Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
