I'm a bit worried about people debating whether or not global warming exists. If you state that, you're sounding like John Howard did ten years ago. Move with the times people and open your eyes.
:P

you do realise that statement assumes global warning actually exists

not that i disagree with you, but there are some pretty compelling arguments against it...

It's more like a lack of solid proof of causation. Correlation doesn't imply causation. I am worried that anything less than a complete acceptance of global warming will become as shunned as much as holocaust revisionism is. People should be more open-minded.
I was going to respond in a similar way to Coblins post but obviously in a far less verbose manner. lol

I don't believe this will help. It is more a pathetic stunt than anything else.

Why do you have multiple tvs etc on normally? :P

Like atm my printer is off, wii has power cord out of it, lights not in the surrounding rooms are off, and I haven't done anything different at all for the stupid thing

Its over. Had about 20 candles going around the house. Went walking around the neighbourhood. Was amazing to see how many houses were either pitch black or only lit by the brightness of a few candles.

I found it pretty easy to do. Did my hw =)

Nah most of the houses that were dark or fairly dark were genuinely involved in the event. I walked past some people who had arrived at a house (visiting uncle or something) and they commented on how everyone seemed to be involved.

That would waste more energy with people trying to fix their house.

I kind of did Earth hour. I turned my lights off but because I was out of my room they ahould have been off anyway.

I went for an hour long walk around the Yarra river (you know, that bushy place near Northcote). Nearly died after walking for so long with no ability to see.

Then came home and immediately turned on the tv and all lights in my room :)

Umm... picturesque is a bit different to just pretty. Picturesque is more about rugged natural beauty (crooked trees, mountains, creeks, burnt houses). Or maybe I'm just getting confused - maybe that's Marianne's idea of picturesque (from S&S)...

Anyway, my house is a bit away from the bushy parks (like 5 streets away).
