hard, what are your texts for texxt response and for creating and presenting?
Not sure yet, do you mean the texts i'm studying or like themes such as encountering conflict etc.
more than likely you will study two texts (can be novel, play, film, short stories, poems etc) for part a of the exam (the ones where u write a text response), and you will do two texts for creating and presenting is the context ones (as you say 'themes') if you are doing encountering conflict i cant help u with that but if ur doing identity and belonging i can help.

havent u done transition or something yet? or booklist from ur school?
oh yer i know the booklist.
i'm half way through (to which i bought today) the secret river i also have Paul kelly don't start me lyrics and Arthur Miller the crucible. Also watching citizen kane. Yer we did get an introductory and a booklet but i lost my booklet during the transition period.

Have fun with Paul Kelly, Don't Start Me Talking Lyrics :D (BORING!) ...A little advice, it's good for SACs but not so good for the exam :)

But do The Crucible or The Line in the exam... Best texts for the context IMO!!!

I would like a 95 ENTER...pretty sure there's scholarships on offer at Monash for kids who get over 95, 6k a year I heard...confirmation anyone?

Aim would be 96-97...happy with anything >91 (commerce at Monash).

English: 42
Economics: 38 (I would expect higher, but our school traditionally gets owned in economics)
Accounting: 42+ (Only midyear will help a lot)
BM: 45+ (It's bm...zzzz)
Methods: 35 (might end up CBF'ing in this and just accepting 25+ if it's going to slip out of my top 4..think I could gain extra study score points on other subjects by neglecting this, overall increasing my ENTER :).)

With a 48 in PE in '08.

Calc says 97.4.....probably will get lower though..(95)... *crosses fingers*...I swear this is going to jinx me now!

Is somebody gonna update that calc? Spesh only ('only', lol) went up by 8.

Anyways, good luck to all you year 11s for next year. Hope you get the enters you want.

mondaytuesdaywednesdaythursdayfridaysaturdaysunday: Yes, apparently there is. linky

hard: you choose one for text response, and one officially for the context (creating and presenting), though you can add in ideas from your other texts (eg, I studied both Omagh and The Crucible for encountering conflict, but I only wrote about the crucible in my exam).

I hear the boot of Lucifer, I see his filthy face! And it is my face, and yours, Danforth! For them that quail to bring men our of ignorance, as I have quailed, and as you quail now when you know in all your black hearts that this be fraud - God damns our kind especially, and we will burn, we will burn together!

I swear, John Proctor is the biggest badass (not really, but he has his moments).

I quite liked it. It was probably the most interesting text I studied all year. Do you have a copy? I think you should start reading your texts now. And don't just read them, write down key quotes and observations (Miller's commentary is quite interesting and adds a lot to the play itself). That's advice you probably know, but it's something I wish I followed. I ended up rushing at the end of the year, so I didn't really get to take it all in. The fact that my english teacher was a complete ditz and couldn't tell the difference between tuesday and thursday didn't help either.
