even easier, dont organise anything. Expect one of your friends to have a surprise party
So tempting but my friends kinda suck in that deparment  :-\

They did often to pay for their own meals if we go out for dinner somewhere.
This would be great moneywise but I'd feel so scummy if I make them :-[

LOL. Damn :(

Well, invite all of US (or just me, because you kinda know me. Kinda).

As for what to do...nothing wrong with doing the same thing twice? Especially if you up the ante a little bit in terms of quality (not hard, you can drink now).

Don't pick Harry Potter as a theme, since normal clothes cannot be used and there is no music.

A themed party is a good idea, but pick a theme that you can execute well such as: disco, hippy, goth etc.

Harry Potter wouldn't work out. You could have a "character" theme though, where everyone dressed up as one of their favourite characters. Or maybe a "magic" or "supernatural" theme, not restricted to Harry Potter. That way people could also dress up as fairies, demons, angels, magicians, magician's assistants, good ol' sterotypical witches, ghosts, gypsies, etc.

Retro is a good idea, but make sure you play modern music. While older music may fit the theme, it won't exactly have your guests wanting to jump up and dance.

what the. i thought the point of an 18th was to get smashed fuck out amongst a lot of noise and have a gigantic hangover. i have never heard of an 18th that revolved around dress ups.

A rubix cube party!!! These are fucking awesome! Everyone comes to the party wearing an item of clothing from each colour of the rubix cube. During the party, everyone has to exchange so that, by the end of the night, you are wearing everything in one single colour. Only really works if there is a lot of ppl and booze

I'd hate for my underwear to be a colour on the rubix cube... xD
