is science as a double degree anygood?
what is the difference between science as a straight course and a combined one at MONASH?
apart from the duration, do u cover the same things ?
(missed out on monash open day) no!!!!
It all depends man. There are positives and negatives.
Myself, it means I can't do any minors, but for engineering I suffer little. I do Maths, Physics and Chemistry this year as part of my sci degree, and they count to BOTH science and engineering. Next year I do Maths and Physics throughout the year. The year after that, I do only Maths (2 subjects per semester), and the year after that I'll do 4 subjects (2 per semester) of Physics to close out a Physics major.
So, in terms of credit points, I think I only do 4 less units than a normal sci degree person and those are usually taken up by a minor/electives in the normal degree. All you lose is a bit of choice. I'm not fussed though, it's more or less the same. That's ONLY if you do eng though. If you do commerce or law with it, it becomes different and my thoughts are of little use to you.
