Ill call you hard, mozart had more negative connotations than your current account.

so learn to keep the maxim of quantity and quality: don't say any more than you have to, and don't say anything that does not have sufficient reasoning/evidence that you can use as back-up.

Forums are hardly like this, and I don't advocate this maxim at all. I think you've said more than you need to in this post by saying this:

Quote
we didn't like you then, we don't like you any more now

Now I begin to understand why some members of this forum believe that particular members have a superiority complex.

TBH I'm not actually a great fan of mozart, I just felt obliged as one of the few classical musos on VN to defend the spirit and honour of a great classical composer :P
[PRODUCERS REFERENCE! ENWIABE!]

and coblin, fyi, I was making a JOKE, not holding a grudge. I didn't even know there was a "mozart" on VN. sheesh

Oh, I didn't mean it for that post.

I was more concerned with this:

ingramjack48

we all are... so explain or the negative karma shall multiply tenfold

ninwa (+37/-3) smites ingramjack48 (+0/-2)
do you even know what "idolising" means, Mr Bandwagoner?

Yet:

ninwa (+37/-3)  perfectscore (+0/-16)     -     you are a fucking douche
ninwa (+37/-3)    perfectscore (+0/-16)    -    we're not stupid

Perhaps this was because of an earlier impression you had of him?

ninwa (+37/-3)  ingramjack48 (+0/-2)     -     droodles is teh awsm

I just thought that first smite was a rather trivial thing.

I also think you are the "bandwagoner" here for smiting hard for supposedly starting a fight, but no, he didn't hold a gun to AppleXY's face and tell him to swear at him outlandishly because he attacked UoM. He has the right to that opinion.

What, because we have some guy who will defend UoM whenever it's attacked, it then becomes "starting a fight" if we choose to challenge that? It's pretty inconsistent with some of the good principles I know that you believe in.

I don't understand the perfectscore thing?

Yes, that first smite was quite trivial. But then again so are many of the karmas being given out. Sorry I don't take the karma system seriously usually. I'm sure most people don't.

I only took it seriously this time because I felt that I was unfairly being accused of holding grudges when usually I try my best not to and I take pride in my ability to let things go.

And ouch, bandwagoner, me? I would never do something because everyone else is. Credit me with some personal integrity and a brain that's able to think for herself please!

I believed hard was starting a fight there because he used unnecessarily insulting language (like UoM sucks bison balls or something, I cbf checking). Surely there's more polite ways of putting it? He has a right to the opinion that UoM is crap, but insulting language is not on IMO.

i really don't think bison balls is in anyway insulting. Have a look though this forum and see how many people actually use "offensive" language but don't get the reaction that i got from you. honestly, in what way does bison balls make you offended? i see it as very immature to see that as insulting! from the words of ninwa

but anyway, if you think bison balls is offensive well i guess your very sensitive. but i just see it as joke, however i do think melb uni isn't that great, and you can't always take things too seriously.

anyways, as for coblin's comment, yes i'm going to melb uni open day on sunday 17th, what about you?

You should be aware that there can be extremely sensitive people on this forum, and that they can be hurt but even the most seemingly trivial things.

what am i supposed to do? make sure every single word i type isn't seemingly trivial and can hurt some ones feelings? i'm not trying to be rude to any one here but ninwa accusing me of trying to start a fight may also offend me but it's something that is unexpected. you don't see the average person being sensitive to words with very little offensive weighting in them. They even say bison balls/testicals on Friday night live! a pg show. ahh well i don't want to argue this issue anymore but i'm just abiding by the rules, not swearing at anyone directly or nothing like that. I can't expect a something that is inoffensive to be offensive to the outlier.

i came to this thread thinking its going all about open day lol. To be honest, im on Hard side. Apple or something attack him viciously (and immaturely) and everyone seems to be picking on his mistakes. I guess its cos he's not the 'popular' one to being with and i bet u that if the role had been reversed, Hard would still be the one causing the trouble.

Anyway, im very looking looking forward to uni melb open day. Gonna go there with a couple of mates just for fun.

Yeh this thread was brutal.

I learnt 'That melbourne is the worst possible university to go to'
'RMIT doesn't have uni life, and is just a building'
'Latrobe is for complete deadshits'

 ;)

But yeh, I'm not going to take sides.

Anyways... will check out Melbourne Arts.... and find out about transferirng to commerce after getting into another course.

As Melbourne, Monash or ANU are the unis I want to go to

*sigh*

I was not offended. There's been much worse on this forum. I was merely stating that it was unnecessarily inflammatory language considering pretty much everyone on this forum knows how in love with UoM AppleXY is. And no, I'm not on his side, his response wasn't exactly polite either.

Think of something you're really passionate about. Now imagine how you would feel if someone who knew of this passion came up to you and said "hey, [your passion] sucks bison balls!!!11"

Anyway, this is getting off topic, I'm not going to say anything more on this
