Exam Dates this year?

Hi all.
I'm just wondering why VCAA has decided to shift exams to a later date this year as compared to 2006? This particularly affects those doing the sciences (such as Physics/Chemistry). Last year these people finished their exams on the 9th November. This year I will be finishing on the 15th November, a considerable time later.

I understand some people here may like this extra time, but I believe the less time you have the more you focus on studying. I have a whole week between the English and Methods exam, which I'm sure I will find it difficult to study.

Any reasons why they shifted the exams back? Or feel free to add your own opinions on the matter.
2007 ENTER: 95.00

2006
------
Information Systems: 41 --> 39

2007
------
English: 39
Maths Methods: 35 ---> 41
I.T Applications: 49
Physics: 33 --> 36
Chemistry: 29 --> 33

Some years they just decide to do everything late. We don't get our results until the 17th of December, and change of preferences are open from then until Christmas Eve.

Not too sure as to the reasoning behind it though.

I think last year was earlier than normal, not the other way around. I remember my IS teacher telling us we were lucky that our exam wasn't in the middle of the 1/2 exams at my school, because usually it was.

And my last exam is on the last session of the last day of the whole thing :D

For monash the pre-reqs are english and chem.

Generally those going for med do english, chem, bio, spesh, methods +something else (methods and spesh for the scaling I guess).

edit: why are people so rude about people bumping old threads. yeh people sometimes google and come to old threads and post in them. mods can just move the posts in the odd occasion they post in old threads.

Ultimately it's up to you. But yes, those subjects will be able to fulfil the prerequisites for most undergrad med courses in Australia, provided you get the required scores.

Subjects to take outside prereqs are really your choice.
