Well, it was somewhat of a big lie.
http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,8190.0.html

You'll have to get a few pages in before all is revealed.

get over it dude, everyone tells lies. she probably was experiencing sleep deprivation, maybe just invented the lie about the doctor just to juice the topic up a bit. but seriously, who gives a stuff. can you honestly stand up and say you've never told a lie. i cannot imagine somebody deleting their account for such a flimsy reason. there must certainly be more to it than that.

We have every right to distrust/dislike a person for telling lies? Who are you to dictate that we shouldn't do something 'just because everyone (supposedly) shouldn't do it' - since when were you the master of etiquette?

Believe me, it's pretty much the only reason (well, more precisely, the fallout of what she did) she left. People didn't like her for what she did, and justifiably so.

She lied about seeing a doctor for her sleeping condition. Jessie0 caught onto it (God bless her/him) and found out that Happy was indeed lying about seeing the doctor as the medication that happy claimed to be prescribed was not sold in Aus.
Happy then made a new thread, directly apologising to Jessie0, instead of PMing her. Most of VNers found it as an attention grab. /end.

i never said you couldn't distrust a person or said anything about dictating others. you're putting words into my mouth, the same way you fill your head with bullshit. people make mistakes, it's how we learn. she made a mistake in lying the same way i did several times as a child. you going to hold that against me? i remember stealing a chocolate bar as a child, you gonna use that aswell? i may not be the master of etiquette, but your no saint yourself.

get over it dude, everyone tells lies.

And then:

i never said you couldn't distrust a person or said anything about dictating others.

Implying that a person should 'get it over it' (rather than disliking/distrusting) when someone lies.

the same way you fill your head with bullshit.

Step 1 to failing in a debate: ad hominem.

Quote
people make mistakes, it's how we learn. she made a mistake in lying the same way i did several times as a child.

The first half of this statement is a truism indeed. As for the second half, however, there is reason to believe that she did it only to garner sympathy and was fully aware of her intentions. That is my belief (which is shared by a number of people here as well) anyway. There is a difference between innocuous mistakes and intentional manipulation.

you going to hold that against me? i remember stealing a chocolate bar as a child, you gonna use that aswell?

You were a child. She is 18.

Quote
i may not be the master of etiquette, but your no saint yourself.

And?

I'm not the one here dictating that you should do X or Y. I'm saying that everyone can have any opinion they want of her and if she couldn't handle it, she would have (and has) taken any action needed to remedy that.

firstly, unless your willing to set double standards, you might aswell distrust everyone cause i doubt there is a person on earth who hasn't told a lie.

secondly, you have no proof that she did it only to garner sympathy.

thirdly, a person makes mistakes throughout their life, not just throughout childhood.

fourthly, you have no proof that she deleted her account for the reasons you have listed.

1. Who said I trusted everyone in the world in the first place, or that I don't distrust everyone? You're making huge assumptions about someone who you do not know here.
2. I have some idea, having being rather close to the situation as it unfolded (I was in communication with jessie0). I obviously can't post exact details / chat logs as it was private communication, but my mind is made up.
3. Certainly, but surely someone who is older can be assumed to bear more responsibility for their actions. If not, I invite you to try and change the law as it stands on the issue of juvenile responsibility.
4. Same as 2. You can choose to believe who you want. I'm not stopping you.

Sigh...
I think what is more of a threat to the survival of VN is not the increase in spammy and stupid posts but the unnerving increase in forum fighting...

lol.
ahmad told me about this thread. it's quite funny. 4 people leaving for seperate reasons is not a cause for panic, its not like a mass suicide is going on o_o

for those speculating, none of you know the complete reason why i left k.
influences include that you are all getting too young for me. refer to http://xkcd.com/314/. although it is true that i don't wish to date all of you, it *is* getting creepy to chat to a bunch of 16 year olds. i just prefer the company of people in the range [my age-1, my age +5]. another influence is that I feel my efforts are ignored, while someone that frequently bullies new members (and needless I say, myself) is rewarded with recognition of global mod. I'm over helping you guys with your subjects, and the technical side of study score, sacs, vtac etc when no one appreciates the effort (NB - if you have me on msn, feel free to keep asking questions through that medium :)). i am sorry i dont understand your political side to the site, obviously being a good member isn't good enough. it'll never be good enough and i understand that now because of that i will never be anything more than a normal member even if i stay for 10 more years. another influence is that xox.happy1.xox and dusty_girl1144 were spamming and derailing every. single. thread. gets damn annoying to have to sift through the pointless chatter to get to the 10% of useful ontopic posts. if you want to chat, do it privately. if you do it publically i'll only lol at you for what you reveal in your pointless chatter.

and if you cared, i've had my email + msn public pretty much since i joined, so you would have added it :P so no point in speculating if you're not my friend kthxbye x2

Happypuff: Anyone whom enwiabe [in his opinion] sees as being petty, or is often a dissenter is unlikely to become a mod. [true he has seen Brendan, Mao and Excal as making a fuss over nothing, but in isolated incidents.]
Also, not neccesarily every member with what you might think are mod credentials becomes one, what about humph, for example?
That said, "Global Moderator" is essentially an honourary title, so why care? :)
