Haha, i would suggest not just glancing at the mirrors, but really exaggerate it by moving your head so that they can really see that you are looking. This is a basic run down of what happens test day:
The test is in two stages, first stage goes for about 15 mins, and they test one of the parallel park/3 point turn/??U-turn??. One of my family friends is a license tester and apparently this stage is to just see for themselves whether they think you are safe enough to go out on the roads and do the course. They then say "pull over", just relax, it doesn't mean you have failed. They add up all the marks and if you have passed the first section, you then move onto the second section which goes for about 20-25 mins, and here they test all the rest of the stuff like changing lanes, e.t.c.. Once you do that, its back to vic roads, park the car and that's it.
