Highly doubtful.
I mean you only just got over the clearly in and have met all the prerequisites.
You might get lucky if you have SEAS or Access Melbourne though.

you said last night that anyone with above clearly in is garenteed? care to make your mind up. coz now your confusing me  :-\

As if this is a place where people dont laugh at your ENTER.

ENTER does not determine how smart you are. so you can STFU now...thanks
also, PM ME if you have a problem. bring up a problem which CONCERNS ME only, not half of VN who also do the same action.
thanks

How would they know the Clearly in Enter when they don't know the demand? I would have thought that was just a guide.

Do you mean the demand of students applying for the course?

Yes dusty that is true.
If you get an ENTER over the 2009 clearly-in you get a CSP place 100%! (if you meet all the pre-requsitite studys and score and any additional forms they may have asked for, UMAT etc)

What if there are a lot of people applying for that particular course and they can't accept too many, what happens then?

okay so i have senario.
say if for instance monash has 300 spaces for bachelor of law. the enter is 70. what if 400 people apply for the course? what happens from there?

The 'clearly in' ENTER is determined AFTER the university knows how many people have applied, and what 'quality' (i.e ENTER's) of the students.

So in that case, if more people applied than available spots, the clearly-in ENTER would likely increase.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

EDIT: Fucked up the quote thing.

i thought undergrad fee places were being phased out in 2009? so that the guaranteed ENTER doesn't mean much anymore

ok... dusty, the clearly in is formulated THROUGH the demand and supply of a course.

I can't answer your qeustion because it doesnt actually make sense, because things don't work like that.
Lets say for example in 2007 the ENTER for a course was 75.20 because there was 200 places available and 1000 people applied for it.

Now in 2008, the same course has been inundated with applicants due the the increased employment opportunities for graduates from this degree. There are still only 200 places available but people with higher ENTERs have made up the majority of the new applicants. There are now 2000 people applying for this course (with many more of them having ENTER's above 75.20).

Now the ENTER will rise (perhaps to 80-85) ... until demand and supply are met (an equilibrium is reached).

In simple terms, Clearly in ENTERs from the previous year are just a GUIDE because they dont use this years data. This years data will change and that will ultimately change the clearly in's for courses

I hope that helps :)

Dusty I think you are getting confused with previous years clearly in and the current years clearly in.

No one knows the clearly in for this year. Last years clearly ins are a guide.

But it is true that if you get above THIS YEARS clearly in then you get a place 100% (if you meet all the extra requirements and pre-reqs)

god guys, how can you still not comprehend this???

the Clearly ins that you read are for 2008. this means that if monash law offered 300 places, and 1000 people aplied, to be accepted into the course, you need to be in the top 300.

In 2008 (FOR EXAMPLE, the clearly-In was 85.00) that means, that of all the people that applied in 2008, to be in the top 300 you needed a score of 85.00 or more.

thus, the clearly in is 85.00, as those who got 85+, were in the top 300 that applied.

YOU WILL NOT KNOW THE CLEARLY IN UNTIL AFTER THE 2009 OFFERS.

If for some reason half of victoria this year is really interested in doing Psychology at VIC UNI, then no doubt the enter will be High 90's, because of the large amount of people applying, and chances are, that many of them have very high ENTERS.
This means, 2008 clearly in for Psych @ VU: 59.00
2009 Clearly in for Psych @ VU: 97.55

you wont know what the clearly in is, until after the offers are out. So you won't know fore sure if your guaranteed a place. You can make an educated guess, and look at past years Clearly-Ins for a guide.

EXAMPLE:
The course I'm applying for, has had clearly-in scores of:
2006: 74.95
2007: 76.45
2008: 75.00

i am taking a guess that theres not going to be a random increase in demand for the course, and am expecting the clearly-in to be roughly the same as the past 3 years.

So original poster, you got 86.something, the 2008 clearly in was 85.. have you checked the 2007/2006 scores required??

You're gunna have to wait for the offers to come out, cause 2009 VCE may be a cohort that has many interested in Engineering, and the ENTER could be boosted up to 89.00
