What if they don't even have signs up saying they are looking for workers?

I've only done online applications so far.

Well I know for stores like Supre and Target, you need to bring in resumes directly to the stores so the managers can see who you are. But try your luck anyways.

I tried this for Safeway, Big W, Country Road and even Coles, and they all told me to apply online. :S The places I want to work at never want me.

Not many shops have advertisements saying that they're looking for employees tho...

I dont wanna only work a couple of shifts a week

Definitely over Christmas they will literally SMOTHER (can't think of another word) you with shifts! Then, when it is not as busy, they will gently let you down and you will disappear into thin air (this is usually what happens to Christmas casuals ).

I don't mind little shops, as long as they are located in the city, not food shops, and give decent pay
But yeah, maybe i'll go around to some tomorrow and just give out resumes

yes just a general one stating that your seeking employment and your motivated blah blah.

it just seems silly to not have one. your cover letter is the managers introduction to you (after meeting you personally)

Hmm, when u say Christmas, do u mean like end of Dec?
Or is it more like Christmas holidays, so around end of Jan or Feb.

If its only Dec, then it only gives us like less than a month
