Bowling is convenient, since there is Kingpin at MC.
Indoor soccer less so, as there are only places in more outer suburbs.
Trivia night could work, but requires someone to work hard (or find a pub that has it).
Paintballing is expensive, only for those over 18, and not actually that much fun.
Pictionary night involves using someone's house, nobody is likely to consent.
BBQ/Picnic/Dinner also works, may I suggest Birrarung Marr as it is central for all.

As far as timing goes, I suggest you just organise when it is good for you, if others can come, they will. Don't expect that everyone will come, and don't spend your time trying to appease all.

I voted bowling but I'm up for anything really. I can get anywhere/anytime. BBQ/Picnic would be good however.
