Pretty awesome match. Anyone else go to it? Rietie and I were right at the top of the Olympic stand.

Yeah tickets at the gate. It was all reserved seating though (no gen admin). Crowd was 62,000 or so.

I want to go to the ODI on Friday but I think I'll be at a friend's party then... sigh.

Bought tickets today at a Ticketmaster outlet. Top of the Ponsford stand.

Yeah.. Tait was an agry man in his first over. Haha he bowled like consistently 150+ km/hr for that over.

De Villiers got completely mauled.

Pretty tight to be on the ground hit by a 155 kph delivery and have knocked your bails off and have the opposition in delight as you struggle to get up...The Australian player that eventually came to him couldn't help keep the smile off his face as he handed him his bat. But yeah Tait was bowling really really quick...pity he can't produce in tests.

Interesting how all 22 players got to bat in a Twenty20 game and yet only two actually batted well, and they batted so well they dominated the scorecard. Actually, apart from Duminy and Warner I think only Ponting got past 20.

It was a great game to watch last night, even though I only watched it at home. For Warner, what a great way to make his international debut.

Yeah, Warner's already got an IPL contract with the Delhi Daredevils: team with McGrath, Sehwag, Gambhir, AB de Villiers, semi-finalists last year.

Although bit disappointed that Australia has never seen a close international Twenty20 game at home.

Margins of victory in T20 games in Australia:
52 runs, 9 wickets, 77 runs, 54 runs, 95 runs. Australia having won 5 out of 5 T20 internationals at home. While I believe strongly that test cricket is the true measure of a batsman's capability, I think that T20 is also being taken too lightly; considering it has its own World Cup and attracts huge crowds, and I think part of the reason for that is that every match seems to be an easy Aussie victory, so would hope for some competition which would make the players and commentators take it more seriously...and most people didn't stay up to see the World Twenty20 which actually had some real close matches.

By the way, I am really really tired of hearing 'rock-and-roll' cricket...every T20 game...and I'll probably hear it again on Tuesday

Haha, you could almost make a drinking game involving how many times they mentioned 'rock and roll' when describing 20/20.

"Maybe I'll play for Australia in lawn bowls in the future, maybe tennis, maybe rowing." - Brad Hodge

Have to feel sorry for the guy:
Test match average: 55.88
FC average: 47.79
T20 average: 41.24

But now 34 years-old and fearing that he will play no more than 6 test matches in his career

Yeah.. a real pity.

You get the feeling Hodge would've played like 100+ tests for almost any other nation.
