Amazing soundtrack and CG. The ending was disappointing.

Yeah and finally I've watched it. Anyway, god it was epic with the whole post 3rd Impact scenes, except I didn't get much of the plot, but we'll leave that for 4.0.

What do you mean by you didn't get much of the plot? The only thing that put me off the series was how the plot went kind of weird and psychological at the end. Does that happen in 3.0 :/

I was contemplating watching it just never got around to it. I might watch it during the next term holidays lol. Is anyone still watching kotoura San I kinda dropped it after a few episodes ?

What do you mean by you didn't get much of the plot? The only thing that put me off the series was how the plot went kind of weird and psychological at the end. Does that happen in 3.0 :/

I thought it was pretty convoluted, though the standard mecha fare action scenes were pretty sweet. The general gist of the plot isn't actually too hard to follow and it doesn't get particularly philosophical like episodes 25 and 26 of the original series, but it's confusing mainly because a lot of things are left hanging and unexplained. The movie went off on a completely different tangent than the original series, and the implications of Shinji's actions in the movie aren't clearly stated. I guess it's so us viewers feel the same sense of confusion as Shinji does in the movie, since there is a pretty large time gap between the end of 2.0 and the start of 3.0.

Pretty much for the same reasons as friedchicken said, there was just so much left hanging after that 14 year time skip that was not answered in film.

I mean, even the battles didn't make sense for me. They're fighting Eva Mk.4s from out of nowhere (I thought the things were an Angel with the whole cross explosions), and the Mk. 9 or something which looks like Unit 00 is called a Vessel of Adams or something?? I mean, they introduced more than they explained. Yeah it was a new twist from NGE but A LOT has changed. Still it was fun to watch.

My brother spoiled EVA 3.0 for me when it was JUST released in Japan. (He saw the raw's for the movie booklet).

I don't know about the now and then part but if you haven't already check out "Another", "Code geass" and "Clannad/Clannad AS". However the first 30 episodes of clannad are pretty boring in my opinion but is great character development etc.

Well ... I am into Romantic Comedy type shows (I've seen 'Say I love you' and that was terrible. Pretty cliche. Kachou wa Maid-Same is something I like ), Anything with strong politics (Legend of the Galactic Hero anyone?) and I guess anything abstract? (Madoka Magica's fight scenes come into mind or End of Evangelion <3).

I've seen Code Geass (Good stuff xD) and I can't seem to get into Clannad tbh, it starts of really slow.

(Some animes that I've seen are FMA, Haruhi, FMP, Gankutsuou, TTGL, DB, Hellsing)

Yeah for clannad you kinda have to live through 30 episodes or so of complete agony. Try Angel beats it has a lot of comedy, slight bit of romance, great CG and a pretty good ending.

You should try The Tatami Galaxy. I guess you could call it "abstract".

lol clannad first season is just slow but good character development, essential for the bucket-loads of tears in after story.

anyways romantic comedy, some new series include: Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun , kokoro connect, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (season 1 and 2),     
Sankarea, Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai and the list goes on lol
