The way I see it, creators possibly wanted it, Nickelodeon said no, creators not-so-subtly implied it while leaving a heterosexual romance possibility alive too, and left the fandom to continue with their shipping wars. In terms of the relationships, I would have preferred a more solid ending, but everything else was beautiful about the finale Such great animation and music! The show will be missed

Nah, that was alright - not sure what I was suspecting, but it wasn't too bad. Stank quite a bit of Korra-trying-to-do-too-much syndrome, and suffered from some classic Naruto "OH LOOK SYMBOLISM HERE AND HERE AND HERE DID YOU SEE IT NO WELL HERE'S SOME MORE OH LOOK AND LIFE LESSON HERE TOO WOW AREN'T I SMART". Not to mention how shoehorned that ending was.

Still, an enjoyable journey that I might take again sometime. :') And the above is really just over-the-top analytical criticism that year 12 English has instilled in me LOL. Darn Dickens, how dare you be such an impressive author...

Also about the ending, there had actually been hints throughout S3 and S4 building up to it, but I was still surprised they went through with it. I would have preferred the BFFs option personally and that was the scenario I had in my mind up until the finale, but I feel the ending was pointed so strongly towards a romantic relationship between Korra and Asami that that's the only possible interpretation I can apply to it. I agree that the producers were probably restrained by Nickelodeon so the final scene was as far as they were allowed to go without being any more obvious.

If mythology is your thing, you may like Fate/stay night is pretty good. I also highly recommend Sword Art Online, and Log Horizon is a pretty good slice of life-mixed-with-stuck in video game little idea. Plus many other quick little series I've got written down at home.

Fate/Stay Night is pretty good. Agreed. I didn't finish it because I had to drop it due to... well. You know. Why else am I on this forum?
As for SAO... I wouldn't highly recommend it. That's being a tad generous. But other than that, I found it enjoyable. Contrary to the common opinion that it's shit_{total shitnot good}.
