AQ banned?

I have recently communicated with AQ, a member of VN, who has stated to me that he was banned from VN
for a given period ( 2 weeks ). Another member has been able to confirm that he was banned for trolling
and that he was "very lucky not to be permabanned". Yet, i see no public evidence to support this statement.
As a close friend of AQ's, can i please be shown evidence as to why AQ was banned and how the moderators/admin
took action to publicly announce/acknowledge his banning.

I cbf finding evidence right now, but he has been trolling for quite a while, just look at some of his earlier posts.

I might as well spill it here:

AQ had several previous accounts, some of which were deleted after highly racist and derogatory comments. He would have been permabanned had he kept those identities. His trolling was also prominent, and I've had a few complaints about him [I'm not sure about other mods]. The bigotry he showed, especially to enwiabe, I do think he was very lucky not to be banned, and not be banned permanently.

From my understanding, bans are not 'made ' public.

Danieltennis, you have been banned for 5 days. When you get back, so help me if I catch you trolling again, the ban will be for good.

also:

abdulraheem was banned for trolling.

I have since banned kido_1's 3 other accounts.

... jessica69 and danieltennis have been IP-traced to the same location. Wow, this is just sad. 10 day ban takes effect as of now and jessica69 is being deleted.

Also, the IP has been banned for the following reason: Spam (other various posts have been deleted); multi-accounting to deceive members.

Put it this way, we have new information that may cause us to reconsider his ban in extending it by a significant length, if not permanently. Once we finish our investigation, we will happily be open with what we've found. I'm perfectly happy, as are the moderation team, with being completely transparent with our reasoning behind bans on request if it does not create extant ethical dilemmas (such as breaches of privacy et cetera).

As for the two week ban, posts like this contributed:

http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,9475.msg121129.html#msg121129
and his "contributions" to this thread: http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,9271.msg119085.html#msg119085

osmoister: you are being stupid. the ban list is 4 pages long, not every ban is publicly announced. AQ was not banned for a particular post, he was banned for his consistent trolling behaviour, and past trolling on other accounts which has been brought to light recently.

BTW this thread really isn't necessary.

I agree Mao, I think this thread has run its course. If AQ wishes to appeal his ban, he can contact enwiabe at [email protected] - the ban has nothing to do with you, osmoister.

However, in the interests of transparency, we will post the outcomes in this thread when we have completed our investigation.

AQ has been permanently banned.

We have conclusively linked him to two old accounts that were trolling on these forums who then deleted these accounts (BroJihad and CarSI in http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,6242.msg75815.html#msg75815)

Also, most of the nasty and offensive material AQ post was summarily deleted. :)
