As I read it, I fail to see how patriotic it is to throw a shoe at anyone. I'm sure there are other avenues to express one's views in a democratic society rather than commit assault.
Just because someone might support the war in Iraq, does not mean they are a 'chiwawa' (I'm going to assume it means puppet or slave) to America. I mean, what the hell is a 'chiwawa' anyway? I personally support the presence of troops in Iraq (in the reconstruction effort) - the Americans may as well fix what they broke.

At the end of the day, he still committed assault by throwing his shoes. The facts are clear, and there is never any justification for it (asides from self-defense from immediate peril).
Furthermore, some of the images you have posted contravene the Code of Conduct in terms of its decency and suitability for a VCE forum - including an image of a deceased person from the conflict with wounds clearly visible.
