When I study using electronic textbooks my efficiency decreases by 99%. But that's just me.

No way!! I can flip through a textbook way faster that navigating e books.

Also, I have a tendency to be easily distracted by VCE Notes and mIRC

Arrgh.
Electronic textbooks don't work for me.
I need the paperback version...no matter how expensive the paperback textbook is

Reading e-books for extended periods of time hurts my eyes :(

plus then I can't read on the bus, which is like 3 hours wasted every day

Just start rolling out those eBook readers (but versions that could read PDFs and format them properly of course) and that should solve that problem =P It'd be nice carrying all your textbooks in something that small...
