Cheap ID card?
« on: June 11, 2009, 04:19:44 pm »

Does anyone know where I can apply to receive an authentic/widely accepted ID card?
I looked at the Keypass Photo ID and it's $50. I don't have a driver's license so I can't use that.

Thanks

Unfortunately, you've pretty much named all the viable (and widely) accepted forms of ID. Driver's license is probably more expensive than Keypass (driving lessons, permit fee, test fee, licence fee). The only other option, really, is a Passport. They cost quite a bit too.

Get your learners, thats a simple test to pass, im sure it wouldn't cost $50.

Get your learners, thats a simple test to pass, im sure it wouldn't cost $50.

Basically, it does:

Quote
Common Licence Fees
Learner permit test and licence fees
Cost of undertaking your learner permit test (car or motorcycle) and getting a learner permit:
Appointment: $11.10
Learner permit test: $19.00
Victorian learner driver permit card: $19.30
Total fee payable: $49.40

Well how old are you man?

If you're like 16, but cant afford a learners permit then I think keypass is the way to go. I mean it's only $50 for 10years (i'm guessing)?

It's worth it if you desperately need it lol

Unless I'm very much mistaken, $49.40 is not $50.

Might as well get your learners. You're going to get it one day anyway (big assumption).

Personally I see the learners of more use than the Keypass (in the long run).

Learner permits are valid ID in the state that they were issued in. Licences are valid nationwide.

I said "basically" and it's only $0.60 off $50.  :)

EDIT: I wasn't trying to be a smartass about this entire thing either nor was I trying to mock you of your guess at how much a learner's permit costs.
