Got told by a friend who received high 40's raw score in Methods this year, who is currently doing sp. and uni maths.

Not my thoughts, just wondering if there's any truth to her statement, or if it's just her opinion. I honestly don't believe methods is harder.

I believe that some parts of methods are more difficult. ie probability. I would gladly do any spesh topic in preference to it.

I think the question was 'Methods harder to do well in than Sp. Maths', then the answer is, yes. The competition is greater in methods, a few silly mistakes might not matter so much in specialist, but they will cost you in methods. The care and practice you must put in for MM is a lot more than SM, but the flip-side of the coin is the coursework is a lot easier.

   he might have meant the difficulty of Spec after having done methods, which would be different to the difficulty of Spec per se. The question is open to interpretation.

Some people find the Methods course so easy compared to Spec that they tend to neglect it, so when it comes to the exams they usually do worse in Methods than in Spec.

No way Methods is harder than Spec. Look at the scaling!!
