What was the most stupid thing you did in this exam?

6 MC wrong. enough said

stuffed q10) the methane to CO2 ratio, initally had 2:3 but realised in the last 5 mins that it was wrong, so i redid it and then circled 2:1 instead of 1:2, I even wrote 1:2! -1 mark. and the banana oil, drew and named compound b wrong. added an extra carbon in where the Ch to the two methyl groups was and so ended up with a double bond in an alkanol somehow, then named it wrong. -2 marks also missed the ratio of 1:2 in q4) used 1:1, -2 marks if im lucky on consequential marking.

i think vcaa were cruel, and should have made short answer hard enough for the people who had put in the work to stand out

i think multiple choice involves a bit of luck in addition to skill and knowledge but short answer really shows who actually learnt their stuff, i would've like to do a back titration question from scratch or some more difficult organic reaction pathways - btw i think the dna section was way too easy, i  (and i'm sure plenty of other studnets) spent all that time learning really intense biomolecule stuff and all those equations and the creation biodiesel, fatty acids etc.  to be disappointed by a simple amino acids question which i'm sure anyone, who could use a data book could do

Lol at one of the end questions where you needed to draw and name "Compound B or Product B" i for some reason didn't substitute the Cl for the OH group when adding NaOH
