I love cricket!

(But I don't love metro- apparently there's work on my line the same night that I have an exam. :/ )

Be careful what you wish for :). I also know Monash doesn't consider train delays as a reasonable reason to miss an exam.

Hence why i'm in all these different threads and boards.

I am very aware. The works start after my exam, so it's going to take even longer for me to get home ahaha. :)

When I was a lot younger, one of my brothers tried to convince me that there were no muscles in the forearm, just soft tissue (odd memory, I know). Having learnt the ~20+ muscles that are in the forearm this semester, I could confidently tell my 7 year old self to tell my 10 year old brother where to stick it.

They just do I guess. Just like many other athletes =)
don't think many people have done both sports at a pro-level let alone to the highest level.

I'd think most pro athletes don't play multiple sports due to possibility of serious injuries. Most of their contracts would have a clause not allowing them to play other sports (even recreationally like pick-up basketball) due to this risk.

I agree that some sportspeople are over-glorified, but there are some that have most certainly earned the glory. These are people that have used their platform as an elite athlete to raise awareness, to defy social norms, and inspire young people. They inspire kids to stay active, and show people that it doesn't matter if you're a bit different. They can show people that they can make a life for themselves and pursue their dreams, which is pretty big.
I'm assuming Im interpreting wrong or you expressed yourself incorrectly but which one's haven't "earned" the glory?  :)

Re: Cricket
I use to like it (watched every game etc) kinda lost interest lately it's quite time consuming and there really isn't any stability in the aus team. Best days were when you could easily name the team all the way from 1 to 11.

Great weather for a touch of cricket. ;)
Just rolled a side for 80 odd in 35 overs. Went wicket-less though. :(

Weather was awesome though. :)

Surely you'll watch the Ashes? Should be a great battle between two quality sides.

Yep, I just expressed myself really poorly haha - thanks, Sine. :) Not really sure how to phrase what I meant, but maybe something more along the lines of there are certain sportspeople who, in my opinion, perhaps deserve more recognition (not sure if the right way to phrase it, but hope it makes sense) than average for their achievement.
Eg: we hold Michael Phelps' achievements up more highly than a member of the Slovenian national squash team, despite the fact that both are elite athletes and have represented their country in their sport and no doubt have achieved lots of things.

I'm gonna stop as I feel like I'm just making less and less sense haha, but hope that made a bit more sense.

Keen for the cricket even if it only ends up being because it gives me something to watch on TV haha.

yeah probably haha but maybe not as intensely or invested in as usual. I'm hoping Ben stokes plays. Probably will be going to the boxing day test anyway.
