Ohh thank you so much!! Extra curric...oh dear... I don't do any, that might be a problem (There's really nothing in my school apart from a few choirs and like, 3 sports teams? Yikes) >< My parents are way too protective to let me do anything out of school either too ><

That's a lot of co-curricular!! A lot of people, including me don't do much at all. Tbh that's impressive :)

Hi
You'll all need to know everything you've learnt in year 8 and 9 very well! They don't test you that much on anything more, just perfecting the basics.
You also need to be able to convey and express scientific ideas logically
Hope this helps!  And if you get into the interviews, it's best to have a real passion for science! Most of the students at jmss have outside of school commitments and are really outgoing.
Best of luck x

TT-TT Could someone help explain something?

When you register for the JMSS on EduTest, there is this application you need to fill out.
One of the questions is: Are you involved in any accelerated learning programs at the school you currently attend?

My school doesn't offer any 'accelerated programs', but I'm always placed in the highest group when we're split into ability groups.
By choosing yes or no, does this impact anything (and what does it impact)?
Like, does it affect the selection process or the work you receive at JMSS?

Thanks.

.

no, it probably won't affect anything, although that question wasn't on the application when i applied. by accelerated program they mean like SEAL or 1 year ahead subjects. the only thing that differs your course to other students is if you're doing methods which requires a maths test in november to get into.

For the dates and times, all I know is that it takes place on June 10 at 8:30am at Caulfield Racecourse.

omg me too!! they might come out after applications close.
since we're talking about this, on the application it said to list anything that might affect how we do on the exam. not sure what this meant?? what did you guys write? i have a self-diagnosed anxiety disorder which i wanted to write out but i didnt because my parents dont believe anxiety exists.  :(

Hi Emonerd and all others applying for JMSS entry,

Take a look at the following resources and tips contributed by pi which from my perspective are very helpful to prepare you for your admission test.

Alternatively, you can go to http://www.aameperth.com.au/selective-school-test for a free diagnosis assessment as well as plenty of practice questions in all areas to get you better prepared for Selective Entry High School Examination including the one for JMSS.

Best Luck!

For MHS/Mac.Rob/etc.:

For JMSS:
