exactly what a friend pointed out to me yesterday when I was stressheading - the vcaa only get your s or n. Besides I'm not planning on uni enhancement so I think I shall scrape all of these.
Well english today was.... eek. My stomach kept rumbling XD

It wouldn't really be a good indication at my school lol, all the smart people aren't studying for yr 11 exams at all :P

Same at mine, all the smart people did 3/4s and now have slacked off now. :D espesh if you had a 3/4 this week, I don't think I'd bother at all with my year 11s. In my experience, if you listen well in class, hopefully you shouldn't fail. hopefully. ;) i don't wanna jinx myself though!
Happy enough after one hell of a year.

My 1/2 exams were a week after my 3/4. I was motivated for about 2 days and studied a fair amount over those first 2 days, but did next to nothing after that. Not looking forward to getting my results back.

It is not something VCAA gives you.

The only courses I know that require a predcited atar are medicine.

The university contacts the school asking for a predicted atar.

yeah tahts what they are talking about

in year twelve certain courses require a predicted atar eg. UNSW med.

They use year 11 rankings in some schools, and a combination of year 12 sac rankings and shit to determine the predicted atar.

Oh as in Uni enhancement programmes?

Uni enhancement programs also require decent grades to get into (but I think there's a lot of alternate ways in etc.), so I presume good exam scores would only help with that.

But for what the others are talking about, it's one of the factors that leads to getting a med interview when you apply at UNSW and a few other interstate universities I think.

A number of applicants will be offered an interview (either in the main round in late November 2011 or in the final round of interviews in early January 2012). These applicants will be offered an interview on the basis of their combined predicted or actual ATAR and their actual UMAT scores. These scores are ranked and interviews are offered to the highest ranking applicants until all interview places have been filled. Therefore, students increase their likelihood of being offered an interview by achieving the highest possible results in these two selection components.

I'm 100% sure they wouldn't look at your predicted ATAR, well at least not for Victorian students given that there is no proper system.
/discussion

I didn't think it was dentistry, I thought it was foot-care... "That's unusual, you want to care for peoples' feet?"
and this was kind of a simile..."well I suppose tending to teeth by putting your hands inside a person's mouth is far from delightful, and yet everyone seems to want to do dentistry." sorry for the confusion

I was about to give you some condolence by saying the English exam was exceedingly easy, and then I realised I likely failed  :P.
It really is easy and it just acts as a quasi-trial-run, so don't worry.
I had meant consolation lol

Pretty sure that's your year 12 predicted score, nothing to do with year 11. AFAIK, Year 12 predicted scores are submitted sometime in October by your terachers based on academic performance in year 12 (SACs, ranking, practice exam results)
