He thought you meant dentistry because  " orthotist/prosthetist " could have meant orthodontist/prosthodontist
What kind of ATAR do you need for that course by the way?

ahh yeh perhaps (tho does a 'prosthodontist' exist? fake teeth? eh anyways)
I need like... depending on the year something like 81 to 88. But there are only 30 spots and la trobe bundoora's the only uni to offer it. which is why i pedantically aim for higher! :)
Happy enough after one hell of a year.

<3 Life goal: ---->  Prosthetics and Orthotics
2013 - bachelor of health sciences/master of clinical prosthetics and orthotics at La trobe :))

Mi piacerebbe aiutare gli altri studenti che studiano l'italiano quest' anno. Mi mandi un messaggio e possiamo chiacchierare x)

Yeah it's a lot to do with the cosmetic procedures from memory, I did work experience at Dental Hospital in Melbourne.
Of course, aim as high as possible! Work hard and you should get it :)

I didn't think it was dentistry, I thought it was foot-care... "That's unusual, you want to care for peoples' feet?"
and this was kind of a simile..."well I suppose tending to teeth by putting your hands inside a person's mouth is far from delightful, and yet everyone seems to want to do dentistry." sorry for the confusion

I was about to give you some edit: consolation by saying the English exam was exceedingly easy, and then I realised I likely failed  :P.
It really is easy and it just acts as a quasi-trial-run, so don't worry.

How can there be a predicted ATAR score for year 11, when there is no form of standardization between schools at all?

Its based on how your school has done recently.

i.e. if last year rank X got 90.

then this year they assume rank X will get 90

Predicted ATARs in Yr 11? First time I've heard of it. Anyways, all you year 11 kiddos, no one gives a shit about unit 1/2 exams. Yeah, it's important that you've worked on the subjects throughout the year, but exam results? They don't matter. I concentrated on my 3/4 last year during the lead up to exam time, then ignored my 1/2s.
I won the GAT: 49/50/50.

If its based on how your school has done recently it will be biased for a lot of schools, and unfair to many students, the good students in an overall poor scoring school will not have an  accurate score,

Predicted year 11 Atar? What? The only thing important about 1/2 grades is the S or N you receive (pass or fail). None of your other results are sent to VCAA. I know our school does predicted results based off a combination of SAC marks, ranking and performance in trial exams, but that's for year 12.

yeah tahts what they are talking about

in year twelve certain courses require a predicted atar eg. UNSW med.

They use year 11 rankings in some schools, and a combination of year 12 sac rankings and shit to determine the predicted atar.
