Haha I was supposed to tell you yesterday fyrefly that I also have that rainbow book LOL!!!

Bought it yesterday. *sigh* We have to go through the whole bloody thing!! :|

Mmm... and it's 3 or 4 chapters longer than the txtbook for AFC1000... :-\

TBH but... looking at the synopsis... a lot of it finds its foundations in VCE Accounting.
Like... I expect it to go a little deeper (VCE Accounting tends to be a bit superficial in some respects), but at least we've covered the basics, right? (albeit ages ago for me XD)

I think I'm going to highlight and annotate it again like I did for last semester.
I know it reduces the resale value of my book, but I think colour really helps when revising and such.

And besides, I figure if you're gonna buy the txtbook in the first place, you may as well do whatever will help your performance...
I mean... I figure that if you intend to keep it in pristine condition you may as well just read the copy in the library instead and save your money in the first place >.>

You realise we're likely to be sitting the same exam again?

I don't know anything about periodic inventory control method and need to start that today!

Basically... instead of a computer automatically changing inventory counts as you make sales, you manually enter these transactions and inventory counts at the end of every month (that is, periodically!)

Ch.1 seems to do a bit of overkill with the algebra... Ch.2 is okay but (periodic/perpetual and other stuff related to trading entities)... Ch.3 will be dead easy for us (specialised journals and control accounts).

I'm going to try and get a bit of this and a bit of Jap done today (stoopid grammar -.-)
I haven't done any study yet XD
Meh... I figure Prav didn't even *start* classes until yesterday... lucky bastard.

Aw ok. Thanks for the headsup on whats ahead. I need to get out of my pj's (LOL), have a shower and set up to do some work.

I'm just not familiar with the general journal entries that are required, although im sure its just a matter of opening the book, learning it and doing a few examples.

Ahhh I'm not happy that we've been told to avoid using a combined 'GST Clearning' account and that instead we should use two separate accounts 'GST Paid' and 'GST received/collected'!!!

I have to untrain myself out of using it :(

Really..? We haven't been told that (yet?)... It's not all that much harder (I spose it's more about breaking the habit tho)

Our lecturer informed us that while using a combined GST account wasn't technically wrong, in the real world most businesses used separate accounts because it made for much easier viewing of total GST paid and total GST received... or something like that.

Yeah thats what she exactly said. I also have to untrain my habit of using GST Clearing instead of Paid/Recieved :(
