I think the 'check your privilege' approach to motivation is more of a guilt trip than anything and feeling guilty doesn't motivate me, it just makes me feel worse about not wanting to study.

Africa is the poorest continent in the world...

Regardless the o.p. could have used closer to home examples. And the post made it seem like Africa is the only place where poverty occurs.

I don't understand how you made the inference from the quote that Africa is the only place where poverty occurs. There's no magical law that forces you to list all alternatives to an example, it's pretty pointless arguing about this IMO :-\.

sorry but i think no one, when trying to write a comment thinks about whether they can find "closer to home" examples...even if there are examples
