Just wondering if anyone has any good videos/quotes to boost motivation for studying.

A few i like are

- I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.' Muhammad Ali, relates to all aspects of life.

Has anyone thought that these 2 years (VCE) really determine your whole life (i know people have dropped out and still got into a great job), but if you choose to slack off now, you could be paying the price later on in life, but doing well will pay dividends for you. Ofcourse if things dont go as well as your thought, their is always options out there.

Idk, i just feel really down and have no energy as ive got few sacs coming up and have spent my whole weekend studying, and you get that feeling that you havent done enough but you think you have?

VCE is not a do or die year. You do the best you can and be proud of what you have achieved. At the end of the day, if you don't get into your dream course, there are many ways to get there. Just because you don't get into your dream course, it doesn't mean you aren't successful later on in life compared with someone who did.

Sorry if I sounded too much like that. Growing up in a Asian family a lot of pressure comes from my parents to do well, and not doing so is treated like a failure. I'm just really out of it ATM sorry if I sounded too mean or anything

Don't be sorry, it is fine!  :)
When I was studying VCE, I felt so much pressure from friends and family. But later down the track while doing VCE, I knew that I was only doing it for myself. I was going to study hard for my own personal goals and my personal achievements! Sorry if my response was blunt and sharp, if you took it the wrong way!

I suggest you take a break for a couple days. If you are feeling "burnt out"then this will be very useful.

Get out of the house frequently, even if its to the park. Fresh air is a good remedy for stress.

And about "growing up in an Asian family"- relax plenty of people are under the same parental stress as yourself,I myself am in a similar situation and I'm not Asian at all(look at my avatar). If you are really down on motivation you need to reassess why you are working so hard and feeling so tired. Is it for yourself or for your parents? If its for your parents solely then that's unhealthy. You need to search deep within and find out why YOU are working hard and what YOU really want. Getting a low atar score is not the end of the world. It might just mean that it'll take you longer to become a certain profession.  There are plenty of people that succeed without a high atar score or an atar at all.

Good luck!

tl;dr: kb, take a break, get fresh air, reassess your motivation, atar is not end of world.

Pick one of them and make it your philosophy  :)

‘Champions are made from something, They have deep inside them, a desire, a dream, a vision, They have to have last minute stamina, They have to be a little faster, They have to have the skill and the will, But the will must be stronger than the skill’ –Muhammad Ali 
‘I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed ‘-Michael Jordan
‘Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen’-Michael Jordan 
‘I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying’ -Michael Jordan 
‘I know what is within me, even if you can’t see it. I will become, what I know, I am’-Michael Jordan 
'Do what you want, say what you feel, because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter' – Dr. Seuss  
'Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, his hands can’t hit, what his eyes can’t see'- Muhammad Ali 
‘I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was’ -Muhammad Ali 

‘Win as if you were used to it, lose as if you enjoyed it for a change’ - Ralph Waldo Emerson 
‘The only difference between try and triumph is a bit of umph’-Anonymous 
‘While most are dreaming of success, winners wake up and work hard to achieve it’ –Anonymous 
‘There's only one way to succeed in anything and that is to give everything.’- Vince Lombardi 
‘Believe in yourself. You must do that which you think you cannot ‘- Eleanor Roosevelt 
‘The depth of commitment, the quality of service, the devotion to excellence - these are the tools that honor is built on.’- Anonymous 
‘The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain't you!’- Rocky Balboa 

I totally agree, but I think this way of going about things becomes an excuse for people. Of course it isn't the end of the world, but it is your world right NOW, so treat it like it will be the end if you don't achieve your goal atar/course... I'd rather live a shitty stressful life for a year than have to repeat year 12 or do a 3 year course to have to get there.

I'm sorry but why does it have to be in africa? Surely africa isn't the only place where poverty occurs.

It doesn't have to be Africa, and the quote doesn't imply that Africa is the only place with poverty in any way. Sorry if it's racist or something along those lines, I'll happily delete it.

Don't see anything racist with that.it rather hits with the reality...that we take many things for granted...education being one of them :/

That is not the point. I am aware that many take educated for granted, but I was just asking why africa as a continent had to be singled out.

Africa is the poorest continent in the world...
