I heard that JCU doesn't use UMAT... Is this true?
yeh. you basically do a written application + predicted atar. then they give you an interview if those are good. then its weighted 50% actual atar 50% interview
That's awesome! +beach!
except...you can't swin at the beach.
whai?
well because they have a lot of box jelly fish etc.
kinda sucked because the beaches are amazing...but the ones you are actually allowed to swim in aren't so nice
Ah well, at least it is med.
Reckon you will get in?
I'm starting to regret not applying there.
Good luck for your interview btw or if it has already happened then I hope it went well.
hard to tell if i'll get in, considering i am not a rural person, have no indigenous experiences (which sounds...racist. but i'm not being racist. they just asked me about it) and don't actually want to work in australia after i get my degree. most of the other kids were from sydney on the day i went, and most had previously lived in rural areas.
but i guess i'll find out between christmas and new year...they like to give out offers earlier than other unis.
and if anyone is reading this who is thinking about medicinefor the future, but is uncertain about their UMAT scores, apply to JCU. its kind of worth the extra $25 it costs to apply through QTAC because if you write a good application (whic, trust me, is not that hard if i can do it) then you can probably get an interview. which is always a plus.
and also, if you do get an interview at JCU, my advice is don't even worry about the people who will be interviewing you. even the one who is supposed to be the 'devil's advocate' is pretty nice.
