yeah i think ill go with the burqa issue, however im really concerned cos its been around for a long time and isnt very recent. and we have to get articles that are written after sept 1st 2010 so atm im struggling to find recent one :S dunno wat im going to do.
and yes i think im unlucky cos its gonna be weird doing it in front on 1 person  :(
wow, doing an oral in front of one person would be weird...we had to do ours in front of our teacher, another teacher and our whole class :P
i remember reading an article in the sydney newspaper when i was up there about the burqa issue...i can't remember if you're allowed to use interstate newspapers...if not, try looking up one of the islamic community newspaper websites...they usually have articles on the burqa issue, albeit usually a biased view but that could be useful! (i used indian community newspapers in my oral last year)  here's one link that might be helpful http://www.crikey.com.au/2010/09/29/rundle-burqa-ban-is-a-mass-displacement/

IMHO, I think my school has the best Oral conditions. One teacher and seven students of our choice. You don't have to present in front of anyone that will distract you! And it's a very intimate set up, allowing you to really connect with every person you're speaking to.
I would end up just chosing 7 random people. The audience doesn't matter that much imo.

Yeah, that's my plan. Just as long as they're sensible random people.

got a quick question,

do you reckon talking about aborigines and equality is a "current" enough topic? I mean its pretty much an ongoing issue,

what do you fellas think?

Yep fine, just because it's recurring doesn't mean it's not current.

I was lucky to get away with speaking about abortion - not a 'current' topic but one that's always lingering around the crevices of the media. Very easy to debate too.
