hey guys first timer, want to thank mao for both physics and chem solutions, really appreciated !

i was just wondering if they'll accept KOH as the reagent, mao wrote NaOH which is definately right but is KOH acceptable aswell?

anyway once again cheers mao ur a hero

hi, just wondering if methyl-propan-1-ol was the same as 2-methyl-propan-1-ol? I was under the impression that if you had a 3 carbon chain with a methyl group on the 2nd carbon that you had to omit the '2' as it's obvious that its on the 2nd carbon, as it cant be anywhere else as that would make it butan-1-ol.

Sounds right to me. I'd call it methylpropan-1-ol or methyl-1-propanol though. You've got an extra hyphen in between the last group and the main part.

lol midyears were sooo gay!!! hey just wondering if the fragment lost in short answer Q7 d) was the H free radical?? becoz then the molecule then wouldve been fragmented into:

       blah+    and       H (radical)

and since the stupid machine only detects positive thingys, i thought the LOST part had to be a radical??? maybe??

Correct. This is the answer I fully endorse. I'm not sure what Mao has posted.
