Any UMAT applicants this year?

do you need chemistry for medicine? I thought biology would be more important in medicine?

Monash has a pre-req for chemistry, and so do many other med schools (uni Qld, UniTas come to mind)

So, short answer, YES.

However, there are some med schools, i think it was Uni Newcastle that didnt require it (also i think JCU). But you're better off doing chem at vce- so you can keep monash ect..and option

well i wasn't planning on doing med anyway, just wanted to see if i had the skilzzzz to get in. But i'll still do the UMAT to see how i go, but not medentry. Anywhuuuuu it's off to engineering/commerce/law for me.

Other students sit the GAMSAT?

yer, is that true. How come people take a gap year and do the UMAT. I think you have to be in yr12 or higher

Well, this is what happens: People do the UMAT in year 12, and they don't quite get into what that want. So they then get into courses such as BSc or something along those lines (or even getting into med in a different state). So what they do in first year, second year ect. is redo the UMAT in the hope of transferring courses. However, once the uni student completes a degree, and hence becomes post-grad, they are no longer legible for UMAT (the U standing for Undergraduate). Important to note that year 11's can't (well some do, but illegally) do the UMAT.

I remember back in 2007, one of the teachers at my school sat the UMAT...
And after he did it, he realised that he had to do the GAMSAT *facepalms*
