There is nothing degrading about two consenting adults performing work under contract. It's their choice, after all. Not to mention such a job wouldn't exist if there wasn't a market for it.

Yeah, I agree somewhat with excal and echenzi - it's not really degrading of the pornstars themselves. The culture that it may help construct is another thing. But I don't think you should ban or block it. You can't just decide what people should or shouldn't be watching, and I think that even extends to kids. At least let parents decide rather than having a government veil kids from reality. If parents are too stupid/ignorant/not tech-savvy to realise that kids might be able to access porn, then so be it. Their negligent parenting would probably have worse effects than having their kids stumble on some porn. If the government is so concerned, then maybe they can bombard everyone's letterbox with countless informative pamphlets. The internet is one of the last 'free' media we have, it shouldn't be regulated.

I've always found it funny. Aren't parents the least bit offended at the implication that they need the government to raise their kids?

We all know that it breaks up marriages[1], degrades women[2] and creates an unrealistic expectation of sex for teenagers[3] (i.e. virgins) which only leads to disappointment for them afterwards when they engage in sexual intercourse/activities for the first time.

Well it would seem UK sex culture is far more liberated than what you have in Australia. I think more parents would be okay with their kids being exposed to sex at younger ages.

It does present as an issue however when you have one of the world's highest teenage pregnancy rates.
