Highlighting doesn't exactly make it easier for me to remember things, but I only highlight the really important stuff, so when I'm reading over the book or writing notes, I only have to look at the highlighted sections. :P

I do it for most of my textbooks, my friends GASSPP in horror that I high light my text book, but considering how in Psych, most of the book is talking about examples or previous studies, I'd rather be able to see the information right when I'm looking for it.

It depends on what colour highlighter you use. If you use a black highlighter, you can't see the words.

I only highlight because sometimes my teachers say things like, 'Could you highlight this please?' So then I know that it's especially important and relevant to a future SAC. And then sometimes we get large chunks of text with only a few sentences that I might consider using. And I usually highlight historians' opinions in my Revs textbooks. The rest of the highlighting I do just serves to show the teacher I'm paying attention in class.

does your irrelevant and off topic post have any purpose whatsoever. no. SO SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!

also, after a few different trial runs, bright yellow highlighter works best, liquid paper makes the situation worse and blood from your finger hurts and may induce infection.

sorry i dont have much to work with right now, but, such is life.

With highlighting I only highlight the important things that stand out and must be remembered.
I know some people that sit there and highlight large blocks of text, but I guess it must work for them.
