I'm assuming that September means that it'll be during the school holidays (that'd be pretty convenient imo)? What time do you intend for the lecture to start?
Where are you thinking of for locations (still scouting places I assume)?
What do you intend to cover?
How familiar are you with the current study design? I don't think this is an issue, the core skills and approach of VCE IT hasn't changed. That said, are you confident enough to answer specific questions with the new content in the new study design (especially when it comes to clarifying the more ambiguous points of the study design)?
Yep, September, well I'd like to start it early in the morning, so probably at 9.00AM, so it can finish by 3.00PM.
Location - Monash University - I can book a lecture hall
I intend to do a run down of the key concepts and look at how to answer questions and how to analyse the case study (which is what most students find most difficult). Focus will be on how to analyse questions and how to answer questions so that you will gain the most marks. I'll spend time going over the main points of the course that will definately be assessed, in my opinion.
I'm quite familiar with the current study design, it's 75% the same as my own anyway, but I should be able to answer most questions. But the aim of my lecture won't be on content, which you can find on the internet or in textbooks, but more on how to answer questions and how to analyse case studies.
So, if the numbers are good, i.e. around 20 - 30 people, I'll consider running it, even though I know 30 is a very ambitious number for software development.
