VCE Software Development Lecture

If I was to hold a lecture for Software Development in September, who would be interested?

Probably around $35 for 5 hours, with an hour break for lunch, with notes...etc.

Yeah I'd be interested, there's not too many revision lectures around for ITSD. The only other one I know of is the Swinburne one, and the timing of that isn't convenient at all. Hmm, let me think of some questions.

I'm assuming that September means that it'll be during the school holidays (that'd be pretty convenient imo)? What time do you intend for the lecture to start?

Where are you thinking of for locations (still scouting places I assume)?

What do you intend to cover?

How familiar are you with the current study design? I don't think this is an issue, the core skills and approach of VCE IT hasn't changed. That said, are you confident enough to answer specific questions with the new content in the new study design (especially when it comes to clarifying the more ambiguous points of the study design)?

Yep, September, well I'd like to start it early in the morning, so probably at 9.00AM, so it can finish by 3.00PM.

Location - Monash University - I can book a lecture hall :)

I intend to do a run down of the key concepts and look at how to answer questions and how to analyse the case study (which is what most students find most difficult). Focus will be on how to analyse questions and how to answer questions so that you will gain the most marks. I'll spend time going over the main points of the course that will definately be assessed, in my opinion.

I'm quite familiar with the current study design, it's 75% the same as my own anyway, but I should be able to answer most questions. But the aim of my lecture won't be on content, which you can find on the internet or in textbooks, but more on how to answer questions and how to analyse case studies.

So, if the numbers are good, i.e. around 20 - 30 people, I'll consider running it, even though I know 30 is a very ambitious number for software development.

im happy to provide my help and collaborate if required.

i was planning to hold one for IT Apps and IT SD.

i think the price should be lower, not here for money but to help and offer revision as theres not many IT revision lectures.

That's great, thanks for that, well considering I didn't do Apps, you could possibly hold a lecture for that?

The cost isn't just all for profit though, it costs me money to book out a lecture theatre as well as print off materials as well, not to mention the time I'll spend preparing for the lecture and actually delivering it. Considering that lecturing companies charge way more than I am for the same amount of hours plus they have more students, I thought my price wasn't too bad, but I'll try to lower it, I'll see.

I had her when I was doing 3/4 Software Development, and nah, she doesn't know how to teach, I don't think she knows much about IT either to be honest with you.

Maybe a good idea u can do the lecture for ITSD and ill do for IT Apps, that would be better dont u think?

But if u need help or want any resources let me know.

This would benefit everyone who is doing IT as not many revision lectures around and help them prepare or the exam.

I would be very interested in attending. I would even make the journey from Echuca stay with my sister and get her to take me.

I'm sure friend would be inteterested too if they can make it!
