The free food look amazing but the queues! I didn't wait in a single BBQ line in first year. The only queue I've joined was the queue to pet puppies and kittens. Arranged by UMSU during 'stress less week'? A+, highly recommend, would wait 35 minutes in line again.

Back to back classes for days. Those 1 hour breaks as so pointless.

BACK TO BACK CLASSES.  One time I chose to have back to back classes for 6 hours and that was still better than having breaks.

What should I be doing in response to a subject clash? Going off the timetables on the SIS (for example, here) it seems that I will have a clash between The Global Environment and Accelerated Mathematics 1.

I presume that I just have to cross my fingers and wait to see if different lectures are released on the 24th of February? And if that doesn't eventuate, I then just hope that one of the lectures is recorded, and simply don't attend that lecture?

That's all correct. Pretty shitty to get one in first year, but they're inevitable.

:( Thanks anyway.

I'm not sure that I really understand the 80% release and 20% release thing. Are those classes in the SIS (like the one I hyperlinked before) the entire 100%, or is that the 80% that is released first with a different set of classes (unknown at the moment) released on the 24th?

It's 80% of the places in those classes.

No, no it's not obvious at all really. Your way of looking at it was just as valid!
